Relief Carved Signage

Relief carved signs offer a visually interesting way to present your message. Producing a relief carved sign starts with flat groove engraving the background out of a piece of material. This creates a background that is dropped below the level of the letters or design at the foreground. The flat background is then carved with a rounded tool to create a subtle texture in the background.

This process results in an background that is dropped below the letters. The texture of the relief carving adds interest without actually adding any art to the overall design. We use this process in both large scale, where a majority of the sign face is carved, and smaller scale, where only a small part of the logo is relief carved.
